Theme

This time, the main character is a young lady who brutally murdered her parents. She is locked in the facility and probably never getting out of there. There’s a lot of things that can go on at the same time. The studio has taken the key elements of the original game and added quite a bag of new features to boost the level of insanity.

Fire Frames/Reels

One of the key elements, which is inherited from the first installment, is those Fire Frames. But this time, there are more than single positions that can catch fire. Entire reels can go up in flames. And while individual frames split symbols in two, Fire Reels split each symbol in three. There can be 1-13 positions and 1-5 reels that are burning.

Dead Patients

It’s not surprising that patients in the Mental 2 slot die young. Their Gravestones are there to remind you of what’s going on behind these doors. When you do see the gravestone, it reveals a patient icon with a multiplier up to x9,999. But that’s not to multiply a win. This figure is the symbol count for a reel.

Enhancer Cells

This is another element you must have already seen. Three positions that are at the bottom of three middle rows remain locked. To activate them, you need positions that catch fire. 4, 6 and 8 Fire positions get 1, 2 and 3 Enhancers triggered. Why do you need them? Because they award high value icons or boosters.

xHole

But unfortunately, the studio decided this will be too much for a bonus. That’s why the feature won’t get triggered in Free Spins.

Mental Transform

There are two Scatters in this game. The one with a head in a jar called “Disembodied”. Just one of these is enough to trigger the transformation process, when the symbol turns into a high value icon or feature symbol.

Bonus Games

We’ve covered one Scatter above in this Mental 2 slot review. The other one is another jar, but this time it contains a brain, and it’s called “Cognitive”. The two will never meet on the same reel because one appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 and the other on 2 and 4.

A Disembodied Scatter alone will only activate the transformation. To get a ticket to the bonus game, there must be 3 Cognitive Scatters.
